TruthVerdict is a community fact-checking app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have. The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we don't sell it, and you can delete all of it yourself.
Account data. Your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple identifier and — only if you choose to share it — your email address.
Activity. The claims you post, the verdicts you cast, circles you join, users you follow, and your resulting trust score, streaks, and accuracy statistics. Vote counts on posts are shown to others in aggregate; your individual verdict on a post may be visible to people who follow you as part of vote breakdowns.
Media. Images or videos you attach to posts, and your profile photo if you set one.
Technical data. The network address a new account signs up from (kept for abuse prevention), and a hardware attestation from Apple's App Attest service that proves the request came from a genuine copy of our app. We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or browsing history.
We use this data to run the product: showing posts and verdicts, computing trust scores and leaderboards, delivering the hourly game, preventing bots and duplicate accounts, and sending account emails such as verification and password reset. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. We use no third-party analytics or ad SDKs.
Our servers and database are hosted on Railway. Account emails are delivered via SendGrid (Twilio). Sign in with Apple and App Attest are provided by Apple. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service.
Fact-check claims in the archive come from public fact-checking organizations via the Google Fact Check Tools API, with the checking organization credited. Trending posts link to the original news source. Game images are either AI-generated, stock photography with photographer attribution, or news imagery linked to its source article.
You can edit your profile in the app. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete Account) permanently removes your account, posts, votes, media, and follows from our systems immediately — there is no retention period. You can also simply browse as a guest, in which case we hold no account data about you at all.
TruthVerdict is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
We'll update this page when the policy changes. Questions or requests: support@truthverdict.app.
